Horizontal Pauses

Admit it- we all need a nap. “Napping,” sounds so childish though, so as adults let’s just call it, “Taking a horizontal pause.” That gives us a good excuse to catch a few Zzz’s in the middle of our hectic day, right?! Look, we all struggle. Energy, finances, patience, stress, worry, fear, etc…All things that cross my mind MORE than they should. I’ve come to a few roadblocks in life. We ALL have. I’m not writing this in hopes that you look back on your struggles, and you write down every bad thing that has ever happened. I’m writing because we all need to take the active steps to think about, write down, share, and relish in the good times. Even in the most difficult of situations, there is always light. Always.

Whether you see it or NOT is up to you; and only you.
Take the time to take a horizontal pause. But when you wake up, put on your running shoes and take a twenty minute jog. Drink a cool glass of iced water, and grab a pen and paper.
Now write down your goals. What do you hope to accomplish?! What are you currently working on? Now-
What can you do TODAY to get you that much closer to your dream?

Here’s the crucial step- GO && do those things. Chase your dreams with everything you have.
If opportunity doesn’t knock- build a door. Don’t let anything stop you. Money, time, relationships, intelligence….Don’t take NO for an answer.

Oh, I forgot to remind you that this process is easier said than done (as with anything good in life) You will get frustrated, angry, stressed, and discouraged- But, please, remember this-
Trust in God.
How silly would we be to question a plan that is already set forth for us?

This is what I believe. God can do anything, but He will not do what we can do for ourselves.

Read that out loud-
God can do anything,
but He will not do what we can do for ourselves.

Wow. This inspires me every time.
We need to trust in the Lord with all our hearts, but we also need to work like it is up to us.
&& praise Him for the doors he helps us build!

Enjoy your “horizontal pause” today; and good luck with the list. I know you will check off more than you know if you stick to it.
I’d love to hear all about what inspires YOU. What are your goals… How are you going to accomplish them?

With Love,
PhotoSoul Sarah.

TwitterPated..

1.) To be completely enamored with someone/ something.
2.) The flighty excited feeling you get when you think about/ see the object of your affection.
Nothing is more precious than a girl in love.

That’s what I believe.
I was driving home from dinner tonight and saw a girl holding hands with (well, obviously) the man of her dreams. Her cheeks were rosy red; her ribbons of hair were perfectly curled and bounced with every eager step she took. Her laughter was contagious, and her smile was filled with sincerity. I didn’t notice myself just giggling to myself, smiling from ear to ear. It took a minute to snap back into reality. How happy she was; how alive! I decided we need more people in love- that mad, passionate, extraordinary love. There are too many ‘mediocre’ things in life, and love should not be one of those. We don’t coast in love. We give it our ALL- we come alive!

My hope for you today is to fall in love. No, not find the man or woman of your dreams, but just let yourself fall in love. Go out and buy that paintbrush you’ve had your eye on for a while, and fall in love with the perfect strokes it paints. Bake home-made chocolate chip cookies and fall in love with that warm, fresh-baked-cookie smell that will fill your home. Take the long way to work, and fall in love with your surroundings. Call your loved ones and fall in love with their voice.

Imagine the world filled with twitter pated souls. People completely enamored by their loves; their love of painting, photography, skating, traveling, riding, driving, creating…. Endless loves. Imagine a world filled with people who genuinely LOVED love.

Take the time to love.

Take the time to fall in love.

Take the time to just. be. Twitter pated with LIFE.

Reward for LOST INSPIRATION…

Does this sound like you? Have you ever asked yourself, “Man, where did my motivation go?” Or tell your friends, “When you find your inspiration, tell mine to come back!”
Don’t be ashamed if you answered, yes. I’m not reading your mind, trust me. It just happens to the best of people…more specifically, to all of us.
I tend to compare inspiration to sleeping. When you need it, it’s nowhere in sight! We don’t wake up with earth-shattering ideas. The most famous writer’s never wake up and write a book in one day. In fact, it usually takes months, and lots of planning and headaches, too!
So don’t beat yourself up when you need to be inspired.
I often find myself seeking out inspiration and motivation; but I just realized that it comes when you least expect it.
Live your life- FULLY. Be hyper aware of where you are. The sounds, sights, smells, and people around you.
Live with your eyes wide open.
If you’re an artist, use those images to sketch. If you’re a writer, use those images to write. If you’re  a businessman, use those images to reach out to customers. Take those little snippets of the slightest inspiration and make it into a legacy.
Let me tell you a story-
I was watching a romance movie; snuggled up in my silk blanket as warm and cozy as I could be. I wanted an outlet, so naturally I thought that watching a movie would be my best option having exhausted all the other ones. I decided to watch, “The Lucky One.” If you’ve never seen it, you should. Well, it fulfilled all my needs as far as a romance movie goes, but  the last line hit me.
Everyone has their own destiny, not everyone makes a choice to follow it, I’m lucky I did.
-Logan (The Lucky One)
How simple is that sentence; yet how bold. It inspired me.
Think about your destiny.....
Are you doing everything in your power, every day to pursue that?
If you are, I’m loving that grin on your face! If not, close out this web browser and chase after that dream with everything you have. (Of course, make sure to keep me updated! :)

With love,

Here's my hope for today- You appreciate the small things in life. When you go out to dinner; order dessert first. Savor the sweet taste of chocolate and caramel, and then take your meal home because you're so satisfied by dessert! Just. Try. It! When you're ready for bed at night, instead of covering up with your blankets, snuggle close with your loved one. Cherish their smell, their touch...trace the lines on their hands. Draw roadmaps on their back. Put a fresh vase of wild flowers on your kitchen table and every time you pass, take a moment to literally, "Stop and smell the flowers."

Just slow down.
Take time to appreciate the little things;
In the end-
You'll see that's all that matters.

With love,

If Your Dreams Dont Scare You... They Aren't Big ENOUGH.

What makes you come alive?
I've always been a dreamer.
 I know; cliché.
I have high hopes about..well, everything! From the simple things in life like buying the right lip-gloss, or the deeper things like changing someone's life. Now, I KNOW there are dreamers && perfectionists out there just like myself. AYOOO.
But you see, I had this 'epiphany' moment, if you will. I realized that from the very smallest of things, to the most grandiose, they are one in the same. Changing someone's life could be loaning them a dollar. And picking the right lip gloss; that's a feat in and of itself. (girls, you know what I am talking about. Not too sticky, not too glittery...the list goes on) What's important in life is giving everything- all. of. you.

What the world needs is for people to come alive. Whether that be playing basketball, painting, or working in Wal*Mart. It's all important. And again, cliché, but....We are all connected.
As an artist, you have this insatiable need to create.
This unending craving for inspiration and passion. Harness that....
Feed that passion and give it everything you have. Do the little things every day, until one day you have this born legacy.

That's my plan.
Following my passion one step at a time. One photo; one painting; dollar by dollar...I'll get there. Trust me.

These days, if you want to go anywhere in life- you need a backbone && conviction. More conviction and faith in what you believe in so that all the 'haters' can't stop you. Because let me tell you; Hater's gon' hate. Or if you prefer to put it a little more eloquently-- You are going to come across people that are highly discouraging. Let them.

Just live out your dream. Live with a fiery passion to fulfill your every goal. Do the little things in life that mean as much as the big things; without them you would never get that BIG end result.
Go out in the world and COME ALIVE.

Check out my site- http://www.etsy.com/shop/PhotoSoulBoutique to see a glimpse of what makes ME come alive!
Let me ask you now; what is it that fills your heart and makes you come alive?

I need to develop some patience-- Immediately!

We all know the saying, "Patience is a virtue," right? Well.. let's just say I know the saying, but am not exemplifying it fully! I am so thrilled at getting some more art work up on my site that patience and I are not on good terms! I wake up in the morning and canNOT wait; however, I also want to provide the best quality and "tip-top" shape pieces. I want the photos to be lighted magnificently, the photos to be in the right frames, and I want to appeal to a unique audience.

Anywho...

While I wait for the "GRAND opening," shall we say, I do have one of my favorite pieces up already! It was inspired by the Cirque du Soleil I watched before I came up with the idea for the piece. The show is a mind-blowing adventure.. if you have never seen it before- Go online, buy tickets at cirquedusoleil.com, and go to the soonest one you can! Oh, and for all dreams during the week after- You. Are. Welcome! Your brain will need a seatbelt, the imagination and pure TALENT is simply incredible.

I sketched the girl with pencil to get that soft feeling. The light, airy feeling of an active imagination! The word, "Create," speaks volumes. My message to you is this-
Go out and be inspired.. Create your world.

Have an empty space in your home? Or lacking that wild imagination..
Check out my site @ http://www.etsy.com/shop/PhotoSoulBoutique

A bit about the actual art I am selling-

This image is a lightweight, durable, beautiful 11 X 14 print.

The glossy finish gives the final product amazing depth and reflectivity. It is printed on Aluminum to make the vibrant colors come alive, illuminate every detail and add depth and dimension to an otherwise flat surface. This print has a unique aesthetic of antique tintypes, but modern durability to last a lifetime.

Complete with an easel fixture on the back (as shown in the images) that allows you the option to display on tabletops, counters, and antique furniture and armoires with no hassle of adding extra stability. This image requires no framing for a sophisticated look anywhere you want to make a statement.

Payment options: PayPal

Hopefully the piece speaks to you, as it does me.

Go out and be inspired;
Share your inspiration on my page! I canNOT wait to hear more....

Pure. JOY! First baby steps in my business..

I'm starting this new thing in life; called... Following my Dreams! I know; crazy. Or so the majority of people would say.. I'm 21 years young living with every beat of my heart! It's never too late to start following your dreams, but many people don't start living until they find out, well...for lack of better words- they're dying. That sounds horrendous, but think about it-- How many people do you know who worked in a job they hated just to pay the bills, to put food on the table! How many people do you know that have a dream that was never followed?!

That's not me.
And quite honestly, I HOPE that is not you.

Hi, I’m Sarah! I love my camera, silk blankets, lace…anything, smiling, surprising people, and lyrics to songs! I am obsessed with the color mint! I believe with every ounce of me that we live a purpose-driven life… Yes, everyONE person has a significant purpose. I believe that sometimes all you need is faith as big as a mustard seed, and God will do the rest. If you don’t agree, do me a favor. Place your hand over your heart, feel THAT? That’s called purpose. You’re alive for a reason. No matter what obstacles and heart breaks have been placed in your way, I want you to keep striving for more. Sometimes the end of YOUR rope is the beginning of God’s doorstep. Find that one thing that makes you truly HAPPY; and then pursue that with all of you.

That’s where I am at right now. I’m living in this big old world with a crazy dream. I want to be a photojournalist and travel the world. I want to go where love is needed… Have eyes that see the ones forgotten, have arms for the broken-hearted, and love for humanity. I’m asking that my eyes be opened; and allow my gypsy soul to see the world. So with every penny I earn from this wonderful site, I am dedicating it to going to India. To stand in the midst of the slums with vibrant colors bouncing off my lens; and be humbled. Maybe it is a selfish venture, but I know one day I will make a difference. To help one person exceed every expectation that has ever hovered over their head; to write lines that change hearts, to share peoples’ story that do not have a voice.

So the point of my little tirade is that I’m determined to promote hope, faith, and LOVE. Whether it’s through a silly lace headband with “love” written on it, an original artpiece or a heart wrenching story of the things the world has broken my heart of- I hope you are inspired to hug those you love, and pursue your dreams with every breath you have!
If you visit me on http://www.etsy.com/shop/PhotoSoulBoutique you will find me!

I hope to meet every person who wanders across this page, but until then… smile OFTEN, take WAY too many pictures, have faith, hope, and among all- LOVE.

Never stop dreaming!

With love,
PhotoSoul Sarah.
